Thoughts from the office by Ed Ball

A number of my favorite bloggers have taken an online Myers-Briggs personality test. I've always thought Myers-Briggs was at least entertaining and sometimes useful; my wife and I both took the test in college during premarital counseling, and it helped us understand ourselves and our relationship a little bit better.

Anyway, I took the test and got the same result as I did in college: ISTJ.

  • moderately expressed introvert (56%)
  • slightly expressed sensing personality (11%)
  • very expressed thinking personality (100% -- yikes!)
  • distinctively expressed judging personality (67%)

Of course, the more often you take the test, the more you wonder if the "right" answer comes too naturally. I may be becoming closer to an INTJ as time goes on; I did get that result once, and my "sensing" is certainly my lowest score...

I'm an INTJ. Come join me on the dark side, Ed.

I'm not quite sure about how accurate this was because it was so hard to choose either "yes" or "no," but I'm an INTJ:

- slightly expressed introvert (11%)
- moderately expressed intuitive personality (44%)
- distinctively expressed thinking personality (67%)
- slightly expressed judging personality (22%)

Just took it. ENTJ.

Sweet! We did this at work a year or so ago. I'm an ENTJ. However, only by 2%, and only because of assertiveness. I'm an INTJ in all other aspects.

I'll have to dig up my little folder to see what my exact percentages are...

There is a new, free online card sorting game to find your Myers-Briggs personality type. The "game" is acutally as accurate as the original Myers-Briggs test. It is called "The Insight Game" and is available at www.insightgame.org. There are also 200+ cartoon images of the different types in relationship and work settings. Good luck!
